Band Grading and Homework Policies

Grading:

          50% - Attendance, participation, behavior and preparedness for band

          25% - Attendance and preparedness for lessons

          25% - Musicianship

Concert dates:

May 30th  at 7pm; 4th band, 5/6band, 7/8 band and jazz band.

Homework:

Students are expected to practice a total of 100 minutes per week, preferably broken down into five twenty minute sessions.

          25% - Class work

          25% - Participation and Behavior

As you can see, half the student’s grade is based on assessments and their knowledge of music.  The other half is based on their participation, behavior and class work during each class.
