THE FRESHMAN ACADEMY

What is It?

Through a collaborative effort between teachers, parents, students, and administration the Freshman Academy will provide the tools for academic success for all incoming students.  Providing a safe and orderly environment will help promote a smooth transition from the Middle School towards a successful high school career.  Freshmen teachers will meet regularly to develop consistent expectations that will foster a supportive and caring learning environment that will address individual student needs.  Career explorations, the development of organizational skills, and regular advisement time with a teacher will emphasize the importance of the students’ learning and initiate a connection to real-life experiences.  Parents will play an important role in developing students into independent learners who will leave high school with the skills and tools necessary to succeed in their individual goals.  Celebrations highlighting student accomplishments will showcase the success of our Freshman Academy.
